Frequently asked Questions about Coaching

What is coaching?
Coaching is about a supportive relationship built on openness, trust and honesty. Coaching challenges and develops thinking, ideas, behaviours and attitudes. Coaching supports you in living the life you know you can accomplish, professionally and personally. In the past 2 years coaching has become a mass-market in corporate Britain; a growth industry which is booming.

Why should I hire a coach?
There are 101 reasons to hire a coach including:- to become better organised; to advance my career; develop my mind and intellect; eliminate 'tolerations'; develop excellence; increase the profits of my business; develop my working relationships; for my personal growth.
No matter where you are in life, there is always a desire for more. More success, more money; closer relationships etc. Human nature leads us to want more, be more, become more. All great sports people and great performers have a coach. Tiger Woods would say he knows how to play golf, but his coach is probably the most important person in his life.

Who hires a coach?
All types of people hire coaches including those doing really well in their lives.

What happens when you hire a coach?
The focus of the coaching may be on business goals or personal goals. Very often the two overlap so much that they become inseparable. What you are and who you are does affect your professional life (and vice-versa). Many things happen in coaching including taking yourself more seriously; taking responsibility for your life; setting bigger and better goals.

What are the benefits of coaching?
According to the 1999 Survey on Coaching undertaken by the Industrial Society, over 60% of respondents stated that coaching increases creativity, learning and knowledge management within organisations. The February 2000 issue of Fortune magazine stated that in many organisations' coaches work as change agents; developing individual performance and boosting profits.
The specific benefits depend on you and your situation however, they nearly always include making better decisions for you and your business, and having more fun.

How long does coaching take?
Most coaches ask for a three to nine month commitment supported by a coaching agreement. Much coaching is done via the telephone, interspersed with face to face coaching/group coaching. Typically telephone coaching takes place three times a month for approximately 30 minutes a call.

How will I know it's a worthwhile investment for me?
As long as you experience coaching and you're open minded then you'll know within 30 days that it's a worthwhile investment for you. If however, you as an individual gain absolutely NOTHING from your coaching within the first 30 days then you can have 100% money back from your coaching.

You'll only be best at what you do - when you're best at who you are!
